Any Questions? - What to do with velvet fabric…
Hello! I have a brown colored velvet fabric at home (for about 3 meters) and I can’t decide what to do with it. :) I was thinking maybe you could help me make up my mind about how to use it :D

Hi! As the winter is coming, it might be a good idea to get ready with chic outfits and velvet is indeed a nice choice when used wisely :P
How about a velvet dress? Combine it with a sheer fabric or lace and get a great look. How about this?

You can find many similar patterns to make this look. One of them could be the Swing Dress from BurdaStyle. It is simple to sew and would turn into a very chic outfit if you just shorten the skirt a little and add a lace at the hem!

Or you can sew something like this which I have recently made as a summer dress:

I have used a classic pattern from McCall’s (m6460). You can get more information about this project in this post: Polka Dots and Childish Dreams

Do not throw away the leftover fabric! You can make yourself a great necklace like this:

Happy sewing! :)
Is it a curtain? No no, it’s a lace dress!

SEWING AN EASY LACE DRESS
This was a project that I’ve been dying to start for a very long time. I have made a skirt version of it some time ago.
(for investigative personalities it is Lace Skirt, I did it!)
While the workload gets more and more, I had been daydreaming about my new sewing project for days. I then decided to make a lace dress since - I assumed - it would finish in a very short time.
I was right. I finished sewing this dress in 30 minutes! Sewing a lace dress was indeed easy, but you have to be very careful in styling it; ‘cause you may end up looking as if you wrapped around your curtain before going out! :P The pattern I used for this dress was from BurdaStyle Magazine issue 03/2012 no. 102. The only alteration I made was reducing the size of front and back patterns from the middle ‘cause it’s quite a loose cut pattern.
Tactics for “Pepluming” Dresses :)

Hello Everyone! I mentioned you about a contest managed by Philips Smart Irons together with BurdaStyle Magazine in Turkey, in my previous post “To Peplum or Not to Peplum?”. Having this in mind, and the unstoppable urge for sewing a peplum dress, left me with no choice for trying out my first peplums!

Hello Everyone!
I have been working on a sub-project for some time now. I’ve just finished it and it’s now published. I hope you’ll like it.
You may either like sewing or just enjoy window shopping, I think all of us have a soft
spot for fashion, good designs, or putting it simply: pretty things to watch.
Personally I like getting inspired by creative designs especially when I’m sewing. And I wanted to share with you some sort of a scrap book for my inspirations. Finally I managed to design a webpage specificly focusing on the things I like about fashion, style, outfits, accessories, shoes etc.
You may either enjoy going through the photos, or use it as an inspirational lookbook for your sewing projects, up to you.
In either case…enjoy! D
