Wandering the streets of Paris with my favorite V1174 Dress

Oh, you didn’t think that I would finish posting photos from my Paris trip, did you? :P It’s such a beautiful city that I couldn’t keep myself from taking zillions of photos, and some for my DIY wardrobe posts. Well, it’s not French Vogue, but it’ll do I think :D

This dress has been one of my favorite items in my closet since last year when I sewed it. I used a Cynthia Steffe design pattern from Vogue - V1174. I highly recommend this pattern to all. It’s such a nice pattern that you won’t stop yourself from sewing different versions of it.

It was just a mere coincidence that I found a fabric very similar to the original pattern photo. The only alteration I made was to reduce the length of the pleats ‘cause it was a little more fluffy than I like, considering my size.

This was also the first time I did a piping on a dress. Next time I’ll take photos or a video and show it to you. But for the time being, I think Pam from Threading My Way wouldn’t mind us using her tutorial :)

When you have a strapless dress, sewing a neat lining gets very important. This is how it looks from inside.

I use this dress in almost all seasons. It’s great for summer time, but you can also use it in other seasons with a cardigan and a pair of socks.

This was a casual style. But believe me, it looks much different and chic when I wear it with high heels and different accessories. Oh, I love sewing! :)

Cheers!
